Long time, no see

I have managed to maintain at 172. Which is a wonder with the food served on guide camp. Just kind of running along beside the wagon at the moment but not letting it get away from me. Anyway, got to get some use out of all the new size 18 pants I have bought.

New creative activity......digital scrapbooking to go with the regular paper variety, only there are loads of freebies available online so it can be done almost for free! Just what I need, more reasons to sit on my butt at the computer.

This is my 4th ever DigiLO which is for a template challenge at http://ondesigns.blogspot.com/2007/08/template-contest.html where participation is rewarded with a gorgeous kit which I covet muchly.

The majority of the template was filled with the LetsScrap Charity Kit - Think Positivly which can be found here http://letsscrap-theblog.blogspot.com/2007/08/think-positive-collab-kit.html

Other items are Merkeley Designs Punched Binder Clips - text, Merkeley Designs Hole Punched (the thread holding the button down). The title is GinaMaria's scruffy black text freebie and the font is CurlzMT. I think that is everything credited...not done this before!

Beginning redefined

After a visit to the nurses office and a look at the records held on the computer there I have altered my starting stats to 190lb as a more accurate starting point. It's also a much rounder easier to work from number, strangely I prefer it.

Meet my Nemesis

Since 2001 I have done battle with the project from hell

Meet, the animal alphabet by DMC! A 17"x14" 16 count cross stitch kit.

Not exactly 6 years of solid work, I don't stitch that slowly. There have been several (hundred) projects completed whilst it has sat on the sidelines. I have however pledged to finish this one this year.

Why am I mentioning this now? There is one rule in cross stitching. Don't talk about cross stitching.

Actually, there are a few, and one of them is don't stitch and eat at the same time....see where I'm going here. When stitching I can't graze on crisps (chips) which are a weakness of mine..(insert homer simpson voice here)..mmmmmmm salt and vinegar. Or at least I can't without leaving saltyvinegary grease stains on my work. I'm not going to say x-stitch is a high impact aerobic exercise, but at least it isn't a net calorie gain activity.

Spoke too soon

Down 1 lb.

Going to get a new (digital) scale tomorrow I think. No more trying to decide wether the needle is on or between the scale markings from 5 feet away

The Honeymoon is Over

It's official, the easiest part of my 59 pounds is gone, I have been stalled at 182 since the first of June. Oh well. I have been keeping my food diary meticulously, but not really been doing much in the exercise area. I have gotten some DVDs from the library to take a look at (Pilates/aerobics) but haven't gotten around to it yet. There was also ice cream at guides on Monday which was delicious (we visited an ice cream parlour and did a quiz).

I just have to keep telling myself, at least I haven't gained.

Considering a digital scale which can measure to the nearest 1/5Th pound rather than my cheap dial scale which has marks ever 2lb, making spotting small losses impossible. Just not sure if I want to put down £25 ($50) on a scale when money is pretty tight here.

The other week I spent a lovely day at a local animal park. I even got to ride a horse for the first time. Good job they had a reasonably large horse.
Check out those upper arms!
I am 182 in this pic.

My First Half Stone

Here in the UK it is most common to give people weight in Stones and Pounds (though the medics are using Kg) the old system remains with most people. 1 Stone=14lb

I have now lost a Half a stone or 7lb.

To celebrate, a ticker!

Exercise 0, Weight lost 1lb YAY!

I have been feeling pretty low this last week or so meaning exercise has been beyond my motivation.

I have been been maintaining a food diary for the last 10 days now which I think has really helped me control what I eat and how much, since I have to write it in a look at it. I suppose it is this which I have to thank for the fact I have still managed to lose a pound this week despite the awful amount of sleeping I have been doing.

I will have been at this for 6 weeks this friday and have a 6 pound loss to show for it which isn't too bad. Even though J's dad bought me a Marks and Spencers profiterole dessert for after dinner on sunday (about 1 million calories and 35g fat) and the sunday before we were out for dinner with my grandparents which meant a full sunday dinner with gammon, yorkshire pudding and the works, though we didn't have dessert and I was good the rest of the day. Not to mention the cupcakes which J wanted me to make a few days ago, with buttercream!
